A Brief History of the Connie Contest Award

The first Connie Contest was held in 1994 at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles with ten speakers competing. It was black-tie affair. The judges included Art Linkletter, CPAE; Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE, and founder of NSA; Bill Gove, CSP, CPAE, and the first president of NSA; Roger Dawson, CSP, CPAE; and Connie Yambert. Lola Gillebaard was the first award winner of the Connie Contest.

If you are qualified to participate, we invite you to display your mettle before your colleagues and more important, to use this rare opportunity to perfect one of the most important elements of the profession: the ability to connect rapidly and effectively with your audience.
