Put Branding, Expertise, Sales and Talent to work to create your best year in the business to date!

When thinking about my theme, I wanted to come up with a year that would be based on action, accountability and results. My goal is that every member in GLAC, professional and apprentice will find, change, grow and/ or market their brands.

Walt Disney said, "To be successful in business, you must be unique. You must be so different that if people want what you have, they must come to you to get it." Are you there yet??

That's what a brand is all about. To create a brand and put it to work for you, we'll need to look at every part of the speaking business. So for all of you going, "what about everything else?" not to worry, it will be addressed - BIG TIME. There's only one place you'll want to be the second Saturday of every month and that's GLAC.

Ed Poll, our immediate Past President, left us in GRAND shape for this year. Our expanded website and exciting Ezine, both part of his vision, are ready to publicize you, and E-Commerce is on its way as another distribution channel for your products. Ed remains active as he continues to supervise GLAC's technology.

For those of you who don't know, my background is marketing. I owned my own advertising agency and was a pioneer in the introduction of BRANDING to the healthcare industry. Now, my GLAC focus is on branding speakers. Marketing has always been my gift to GLAC whether as the Founding Chair of May Media Mania or the 2005 Symposium Co-Chair with Ed Poll.

My goal is to raise the profile of each and every member of GLAC and therefore, the profile of the chapter. All you have to do is participate. All professional and apprentice members of GLAC are eligible for the Branding Contest and awards will be given to each level of membership. Many of you will get a chance to showcase your brands at our meetings. All of you, who choose to, can submit your branding materials to our phenomenal Branding Board of Advisors not once, but twice. The first time to see where you are and the second to see how you've improved and grown. The Advisors are: Dick Bruso, "Heard Above the Noise" speaker branding guru, Terry Paulson, PhD, CSP, CPAE master of Expertise, Judy Jernudd, "Startegic" personal branding expert, Pam Lontos, "Pr/Pr, providing publicity for speakers and authors, Greg Godek, Using books to expand brands, Carol Desmond, Attorney, Trademarks To Go, Inc, George Hedley. CSP, Marketing and Sales strategies that work, and myself, the Branding President.

Some of you will win prizes:

  2. Best Use of Brand in overall marketing
  3. Best Use of Brand in Product Development

Plus, the Best Brand/Best of Show Award.
